Psychological impact of quarantine

At the moment almost the whole world is in quarantine to prevent the spread of Corona. This quarantine has considerable psychological impact for many of us. Confinement, loss of usual routine, and reduced social and physical contact with others are an example. This can cause boredom, frustration, and a sense of isolation from the rest of the world.

Another severe impact is the possible financial loss, with people unable to work and having to interrupt their professional activities with no advanced planning. 

As time goes on, it’s going to get more and more difficult. So how to look after yourself in this period?
It’s best if there is health and harmony in the physical, mental, and emotional systems.  Start with reading more positive information, because worries add to our stress levels, which can weaken your health. Consider a daily routine, embrace stillness and if that’s difficult, reach out to others. In this kind of situation, it is important to just keep going, with awareness, optimism and willingness to learn new things. Pick yourself up after falling and recognize it’s not the end. Difficult experiences are the best teachers, learn how to use your stumbling blocks as stepping stones.

I always balance emotions when I treat my patient. Always, because everything starts there, even immunity. At the moment I can’t practice acupunture, so I give free consultations over the phone or by email on how to stay in balance and on how to manage stress. Because our body does a better job fighting off illness and healing wounds when it’s not under stress.
